We are greatly honoured that His Holiness Sakya Trizin Ratna Vajra Rinpoche has accepted to come to our centre in Napier, New Zealand (29.03.-31.03.2019) to bestow two precious empowerments and to give us the teachings detailed below. His Holiness the 42nd Kyabgon Gongma Trizin, Ratna Vajra Rinpoche, is the eldest son of His Holiness Sakya Trizin (the 41st Sakya Trizin). He is considered one of the most highly qualified lineage masters of Tibetan Buddhism. Renowned for his erudition and the clarity of his teachings, His Holiness is the 42nd Sakya Trizin of the prestigious Khön family, whose successive generations have provided an unbroken lineage of outstanding masters since 1073 CE. Programme 4.00pm Welcome Ceremony followed by 16 Arhat Puja. Friday, 29.03.2019, 5:30 pm: Healing Medicine Buddha Empowerment. The Medicine or Bhaiṣajyaguru is the Buddha of Healing and Medicine. He is described as a doctor who cures suffering (dukkha) using the medicine of his teachings. He protects living beings from physical and mental sickness and other dangers and obstacles and helps them to eradicate the three poisons – attachment, hatred, and ignorance – which are the source of all sickness and danger. Saturday, 30.03.2019, 9am- 6pm: Teaching on The Bodhisattva’s Garland of Jewels by Atiśa Dīpaṃkara. Session 1: 9.00 am – 10.15am Session 2: 10.45am –12.00pm Session 3: 2.00pm – 3.15pm Session 4: 3.45pm - 5.00pm “Easy to explain, but very difficult to realize” A central pillar in the ancient lineage of Tibetan Buddhist mind training (lo jong), this scripture is attributed to the Indian Buddhist master Atisha (982-1054 C.E.). For one thousand years, serious meditators have contemplated and actualized the teachings offered in this short but penetrating text. We invite you to continue the tradition. It is meant for deep reflection and daily analysis over many years. Only in this way can its true benefit be experience and realized. “Training the Mind, Healing the Heart” 6pm: Green Tara Empowerment The Green Tara embodies the Active Compassion of all Buddhas. With Her great speed She protects against fears, external dangers, internal obstacles, increases wisdom and fulfils wishes.
